Great leaders don’t set out to be leaders; they set out to make a difference.
Leadership is a personality.
Leadership is a process.
Leadership is a practice.
The term “leadership” is often shied away from by small business owners. Some are disconnected from it as they believe the term is only relevant to “big business”, some are afraid of the perceived responsibility that comes with the word and some are just “too busy” to contemplate anything beyond what they have to do in their immediate reality - no time to waste thinking about who or what they might need to be to other people!
NEWSFLASH: we all play a leadership role in life and business on a daily basis (whether we like it or not) - so I figure you might as well know what it is, embrace it and get better at it.
Leadership is about your relationship with power, responsibility, choice, accountability, ownership, resilience and resourcefulness.
Leadership is an attitude.
You earn the right to lead others, when they see how well you lead your own life.
Leadership is about vision, influence and impact.
If you position yourself as an “expert” or specialist then you are a LEADER in your field.
If you run a community or networking group then you have put yourself in a position of LEADERSHIP as people are influenced by your guidance.
If you outsource to other businesses you need LEADERSHIP SKILLS to ensure the success of your professional relationships.
If you employ people you need to LEAD by example and create a culture of leadership and self management in your business.
If you are an influencer using social media to stand out by sharing your opinions and advocating for “your way” of doing things then you are a THOUGHT LEADER.
Anytime you use your influence to affect the thoughts and actions of others, you are engaging in leadership.
Leadership isn’t just about having a powerful position. Leadership isn’t about control or authority. Leadership is about understanding yourself and what you can bring to others; it is about being present and holding space for people to be themselves; it is about guiding and modelling good practice and the authenticity of imperfection; it is about inspiring others embrace responsibility and choice. Your individual success is dependent on the quality of your relationships and if you want to create impactful relationships you need to learn to lead.
So what sort of a leader do you want to be? Do you have the essential qualities and attributes? Do you have the process skills? Do you have the emotional intelligence and people skills?
Are you taking a leading role in life and business?
Do you want to feel like a leader?
WHO YOU NEED TO BE.
The first person you have to lead is YOU!
This session is about personality, presence and positioning. What sort of leader do you want to be and how do you become that leader?
Self knowledge and awareness are essential if you aspire to lead from a position of influence and impact - this starts with the ‘inner work’.
When you curiously explore your thoughts, beliefs, values, experiences, assumptions and biases you can move from a state of reactivity to responsiveness. Learning to be present in yourself allows you to be fully present for others which creates authenticity and connects you to those you lead more profoundly.
Are you ready to realise your true leadership potential?
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.
Leadership is a process that involves clarity of purpose and an understanding of power. A vision articulated in such a way as to motivate people to work together, willingly, towards an inspirational outcome.
A set of skills including: problem solving, planning, prioritisation, delegation, decision making, team cohesion, communication and coaching.
It is the ability to be congruent and predictable, to have clear boundaries and the skill to facilitate team effectiveness whilst compassionately attending to individual needs. It is the effectively and efficiently guiding others towards their personal best, encouraging innovation, personal accountability and self management.
Have you got what it takes to be a transformational leader?
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO.
Having the knowledge is one thing, putting it into practice is something else entirely.
It’s time to explore “everyday leadership” and what you need to do to get the most from your newly discovered leadership presence and processes.
How does it all fit into your specific situation? Which leadership principles really apply to you and how will you put them into practice to ensure both individual and collective success.
It’s time for you to explore YOUR leadership way, informed by YOUR leadership why! To create a leadership culture in your business, guided by sound principles that will inform everyday business practices. Take your business from “me” to “we”.
For leadership to be exceptional, it must be integrated.
